Pari-Mutuel Business
Pari-Mutuel Business Occupational Licenses shall be issued to any business such as a vendor, contractual concessionaire, contract kennel, business owning racing animals, trust or estate, totalisator company, stable name, or other fictitious name with access to the backside, racing animals, jai alai players’ room, jockeys’ room, drivers’ room, totalisator room, the mutuels, or money room. (§550.105 F.S.)
Pari-Mutuel Professional Individual1
Pari-Mutuel Professional Individual Occupational Licenses shall be issued to professional persons with access to the backside of a racetrack or players’ quarters in jai alai such as trainers, officials, veterinarians, doctors, nurses, EMT’s, jockeys and apprentices, drivers, jai alai players, owners, trustees, or any management or officer or director or shareholder or any other professional-level person who might have access to the jockeys’ room, the drivers’ room, the backside, racing animals, kennel compound, or managers or supervisors requiring access to mutuels machines, the money room, or totalisator equipment. (§550.105 F.S.)
Pari-Mutuel General Individual
Pari-Mutuel General Individual Occupational Licenses shall be issued to general employees with access to the jockeys’ room, the drivers’ room, racing animals, the backside of a racetrack or players’ quarters in jai alai, such as grooms, kennel helpers, leadouts, pelota makers, cesta makers, or ball boys, or a practitioner of any other occupation who would have access to the animals, the backside, or the kennel compound, or who would provide the security or maintenance of these areas, or mutuel employees, totalisator employees, money-room employees, or any employee with access to mutuels machines, the money room, or totalisator equipment or who would provide the security or maintenance of these areas. (§550.105 F.S.)
1Managers or supervisors who need both a Pari-Mutuel Professional Occupational License and Cardroom Employee Occupational License should apply for a Cardroom Employee Occupational License. If the division grants the application for licensure, it shall issue both a Cardroom Employee Occupational License and a Pari-Mutuel Professional Occupational License to the applicant at no additional cost.

Cardroom Business3
A Cardroom Business Occupational License shall be issued to any cardroom management company or cardroom distributor associated with cardroom operations. “Cardroom Management Company” is defined as any individual not an employee of the cardroom operator, any proprietorship, partnership, corporation, or other entity that enters into an agreement with a cardroom operator to manage, operate, or otherwise control the daily operation of a cardroom. “Cardroom Distributor” is defined as any business that distributes cardroom paraphernalia such as card tables, betting chips, chip holders, dominoes, dominoes tables, drop boxes, banking supplies, playing cards, card shufflers, and other associated equipment to authorized cardrooms. (§849.086 F.S.)
Cardroom Employee1,2,3
Cardroom Employee Occupational Licenses shall be issued to persons employed or otherwise working in a cardroom as a cardroom manager, floor supervisor, brush, chip counter, sorter, poker room host/hostess, surveillance operator, cashier, dealer, or any other activity related to cardroom operations while the facility is conducting card playing or games of dominoes. (Rule 61D-11.009 F.A.C.) “Activity Related to Cardroom Operations” or “Cardroom Activity” is defined as all aspects of cardroom management, record keeping, administration, supervision, and all activities that support card playing or games of dominoes; and the collection, counting and exchange of bets and revenue associated with card playing or games of dominoes. 2Employees working in food service, maintenance, or security who hold a valid pari-mutuel occupational license and do not perform any activity related to cardroom operations will not be required to hold a Cardroom Employee Occupational License.
3Shareholders of 10% or more, Officers, Directors, and Mangers of a cardroom business, who do not require access to a Florida cardroom, must submit a DBPR PMW-3140, Disclosure for Individuals Related to a Business form, and their fingerprints to the Division with the Cardroom Business Occupational License application, but they are not required to apply for a Cardroom Employee Occupational License.

Slot Machine Business Entity (Combination)1
Slot Machine Business Entity Occupational Licenses shall be issued to any slot machine management company or company associated with slot machine gaming, any person who manufactures, distributes, or sells slot machines, slot machine paraphernalia, or other associated equipment to slot machine licensees, or any company that sells or provides goods or services associated with slot machine gaming to slot machine licensees. (§551.107 F.S.) In addition, a slot machine business entity occupational licensee shall be permitted to provide goods and services to all slot machine and cardroom licensees and pari-mutuel permitholders. A slot machine business entity occupational licensee shall not be required to hold a Pari-Mutuel Business Occupational License or a Cardroom Business Occupational License. (Rule 61D-14.006 F.A.C.)
Slot Machine Professional Individual1
Slot Machine Professional Individual Occupational Licenses shall be issued to any employee of a slot machine facility who will be a security or supervisory employee who requires access to the slot gaming floor of a slot machine facility, or a surveillance employee; any employee of a slot machine facility who will have access to the interior of a slot machine, a slot machine’s revenue, or accounting and reporting records associated with slot machine revenue; any employee of a slot machine facility who holds a position as the head of a department referenced in Rule 61D-14.015, F.A.C., or a supervisor of employees of the slot machine licensee; or any employee of any person or entity providing slot machine related services as referenced in Section 551.107(2)(a)3., F.S., to a slot machine licensee, who may be granted access to slot machine areas of a slot machine licensee due to his or her employment. Slot Machine General Individual
Slot Machine General Individual Occupational License: This license type is for general employees, including food service, maintenance, and other similar service and support employees having access to the slot machine gaming area. (§551.107 F.S.)
Slot Machine/Cardroom/Pari-Mutuel Individual Combination1
A Slot Machine/Cardroom/Pari-Mutuel Combination Occupational License shall be issued to individuals required to hold a Slot Machine Professional or Slot Machine General Occupational License who also need access to pari-mutuel areas and/or hold a position that requires a Cardroom Employee Occupational License. Slot Machine Certified Educational Facility
Slot Machine Certified Educational Facility Occupational Licenses shall be issued to educational facilities that are certified by the Florida Department of Education to provide educational or training instruction for slot machine operation and/or maintenance within the state of Florida. (Rule 61D-14.203 F.A.C.)
